The project site, though compact in size, is strategically situated within a thriving residential area, presenting an excellent opportunity to develop a retail plaza that caters to the local community. 

Matter Architectural Studio engaged Prototeck Engineering Associates Inc. to provide comprehensive civil and structural engineering services for the new commercial development.

  • The project involves the construction of an approximately 11,000-square-foot retail plaza, which will include multiple retail units and a daycare centre. On-site parking has been incorporated to meet municipal requirements and ensure customer convenience. 

    Working closely with the Prime Consultant, Prototeck designed the site’s grading, drainage, and stormwater management systems. This included detailed planning for the parking areas, pedestrian walkways, and access points to the retail units, ensuring optimal site functionality and accessibility. 

    Prototeck also led the structural design of the multi-unit building, emphasizing cost-effective construction techniques while maintaining structural integrity and adherence to the project budget. Coordination with the City of London was a key component of the design process, ensuring that all infrastructure connections and municipal requirements were met. 

    With the design phase nearing completion, construction is expected to commence in late 2026.
